Uta Will Be Back for Another Fantastic Berlin Marathon

The 45th running of the Berlin Marathon could make big news in the sporting world. Olympic Champion Eliud Kipchoge is going for a personal best, which would put the world record within his reach. Currently the Kenyan’s mark of 2:03:05 is only eight seconds off the fastest time set by fellow country man Dennis Kimetto in Berlin in 2014.

Uta will be cheering on the tens of thousands of runners from around the world who have registered for this year’s marathon. Incredibly, applications may surpass last year’s more than 61,000 from 137 nations. Uta is honored to have been asked to join the Berlin Marathon as an ambassador and former champion. Now, in her role as a running expert for the SCC Events, the organizer of the marathon, she will be participating in many of the Marathon Weekend activities. You can read her advice to runners — from elites to beginners — on the Berlin Marathon’s Website under Uta’s Running Column. She provides training tips that cover the weeks leading up to the marathon, and also advice on how to stay injury free.

Below you can find some of the events she plans to attend. We will update her appearances as more information is available.

Uta’s Appearances in Berlin:

  • On Wednesday, September 12, BMW Drive Talk live on the course of the marathon will visit with Uta, where she will be sharing last-minute tips for the race, at (TBD) Berlin time.
  • On Friday, September 14, Uta will be at the Expo BERLIN VITAL. She will be available to meet both old and new friends. The location is the former Airport Tempelhof (Airport Tempelhof, Platz der Luftbrücke 5, 12101 Berlin). The time is still To Be Determined (TBD).
  • On Saturday, September 15, the Breakfast Run, a fun 6K starts at 9:30 am in front of Berlin’s beautiful Charlottenburg castle (Spandauer Damm 10-22, 14059 Berlin) and takes the participants to the finish line at the Olympic Stadium — Olympischer Platz 3, 14053 Berlin.
