Uta Is Honorary Chair of the “Lucky 13” Louisa May Alcott Orchard House Run/Walk
Uta loves taking part in this annual fun and historic event, which celebrates America’s “First Running Girl.” 150 years ago, Louisa May Alcott extolled the virtues of running for women. “Louisa May just got it,” said Uta. “And such a fantastic group now carries on her tradition. I am honored to be part of this rich history of women and fitness.”
The 5K/10K event is open to all runners, walkers, “strollercisers,” and wheelchair athletes of all abilities. The event supports the Louisa May Alcott Orchard House, home to Louisa May when she was growing up and made famous in her writings. The event honors the famous author and her family, who were devoted to social justice, education and the arts, and youth fitness. They were pioneers in physical fitness and health for both boys and girls in the 1800’s.
Uta will join participants for a fun run on the beautiful historic course in Concord. The event will be held rain or shine, and Uta looks forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. You can register the morning of the event beginning at 9:30 a.m.
