My dear Friends,

As the New Year begins, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for spending much wonderful time together—not only during our visits and meetings in person, but also on our Website and via “Uta’s Insights” on Facebook and Twitter. I am overwhelmed by your caring feedback, and I am overjoyed that I reconnected with so many of my old friends. I also am so fortunate to have met many new friends. You have given me boundless joy and inspiration this past year, and I can’t thank you enough for everything!

As we look back on an emotional 2013, I more than ever understand how much fitness, training, and care for each other unites us. Many of you had a great training season and wonderful races during the past months. I salute you for your achievements and your great work and passion, and I hope you are more than satisfied.

Some of us have been dealing with injury and losses, including me, but we pulled together and shared these times, and I hope they felt less challenging.

As in previous years, my best wishes go out as well to our charity partners who we support through our Take The Magic Step Foundation—to the Hoyt Foundation with Dick and Rick Hoyt and Kathy Boyer, the wonderful team of the SOS Outreach organization with Arn Menconi and Seth Ehrlich, our friends of “PeopleWeaver” who support Congolese women refugees in Uganda, the Louisa May Alcott Orchard House, and the “Kinderhilfe” in my home town in Germany. Once again your tremendous labor of love and your caring has been our inspiration.

I hope I can share the excitement and appreciation of the dedication of these outstanding organizations with you as you travel on your path to more fitness and better health in the New Year.

And I am honored to work again with the wonderful team of Dick and Rick Hoyt’s marathon runners in preparation for the Boston Marathon. Many athletes of this passionate team trained and competed during the past months to spread the mission of “never giving up” and “Yes, You Can” in support of the tireless efforts of the Hoyts. You can find information on their tremendous charitable vision here.

Since many of you are preparing for one of the exciting upcoming spring marathons as well, I thought it would be a great idea if you could join me here via Uta’s Insights on this Website and via my Facebook page “Uta Pippig and Take The Magic Step” and my personal Facebook page to follow all updates for this coaching project.

My messages will include personal stories, memories, and experiences of my own marathon preparations, and further coaching, training, inspirational, and nutritional information you may find useful in conjunction with your own uniquely-tailored training schedule. “Take The Magic Step” is a gentle approach to longevity, performance, and health by focusing on the belief that change is possible and that one can experience joy while on a new path. It supports your taking a comfortable pace in reaching goals—all accomplished one small step at a time. And with my presentation, “Running To Freedom™,” I explore the desire for change and how to find inspiration to reach your goals.

And now, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my loving team here at Take The Magic Step for their inspiration and support and for being on my side as we move forward to a promising New Year. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

On behalf of our Take The Magic Step team I send you heartfelt wishes for a wonderful and happy New Year.

Train well, stay injury free, and run with the wind.

Yours in fitness and health,
