Uta Will Return to Berlin for the 25th Anniversary of Her Celebrated Victory in the Historic “Reunification Marathon”

On September 30, 1990, Uta ran to victory at the “Reunification Marathon,” taking to the streets of Berlin with 25,000 other runners on a course routed from West Berlin through the Brandenburg Gate into East Berlin. Three days later, the historic reunification of East and West Germany took place. This year, Uta has been invited back to Berlin to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this memorable event, and she looks forward to an exciting time in Berlin.

Some of Uta’s appearances in Berlin:

  • BMW Berlin Marathon press conference, starting at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 24, Hotel Intercontinental.
  • A training session with school kids in Kleinmachnow, near Berlin, on Thursday afternoon, September 24.
  • Guest at zibb, a TV show of the German station rbb, on Thursday evening, September 24.
  • Messe BERLIN VITAL on Friday, September 25, starting at 3:00 pm Uta’s seminar “Two Days Before the Marathon,” and starting at 4:00 pm “Yoga Session for Runners.”
  • Uta will also join her friend Fridolin “Frido” Flink at the Bambini Run for kids age 10 and under, to be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 26.
  • And she will be with “Frido” at the 4.2195K mini Marathon for kids aged 10 and older, starting at 3:20 pm on Saturday, September 26.
  • On Marathon Day she is looking forward to running the Berlin Marathon course as part of the ‘RTL-Spendenmarathon’ relay team. This is a charity program of the German television network RTL with the motto: “We help children!”
